Creativity Never Stops

Central Arizona weather can be pretty brutal this time of year. Between the excessive heat warnings, crashing thunder, lightning, high winds, dust storms and heavy rains that roll through, I am forced to work on many of my pieces inside. The metal work along with the cutting and finishing of my wood bases has to be done outdoors regardless of the weather.
So I’ve still been able to make quite a few new pieces, in preparation for the Feb. 2015 Tucson Gem Show, which are now up on my web site. I’m very happy with all my new pieces. I’ve installed small LED lights in a few of them, and I had a small red laser module, leftover from another project, which I’ve mounted under a small, 4″ square at its base, Opal glass pyramid. The effect is stunning. It shines right up through the center of the pyramid, and gives it’s very apex, or tip, a fuzzy red glow. Beautiful!
People always seem to like my Miniature pieces, so I’ve made a few more of them also. With many of these, I like to create a hollow space underneath, so the piece can be placed over a light box which, when lit, will light up the main crystal. And, if a color changing light box is used, it just adds that much more dimension to the piece.
I’ve also added a few new Faery Houses to my collection, which turned out very well. On one of my trips to Utah, I picked up some very interesting pieces of Sandstone. The colors, and textures of these blend so well with the little Houses, they’re a perfect match. I have fun just arranging and rearranging the stones and figures, seeing which pieces go best with each other. And the detail on these little Houses is incredible. Just what I look for in the pieces I use. Very well done. I’ll only use the best quality figures and materials for my pieces. I think the end result reflects this.
So now I have many more ideas for new pieces to create. Unfortunately, it is impossible to bring and display all my creations at the Show, there are just too many. However, all my pieces are available on my website. And as I make new pieces, I will continue to add them to the site. So, please check back from time to time to see what’s new. I hope you like them as much as I like creating them. Please contact me if I can be of any help. Thanks. T.S.
