This image needs no explanation at all! My favorite author of all time!
I’ve made this frame from flat and square mild steel stock, cut, fit, and rough welded into place and then ground off all the rough edges and ran a heavy wire wheel over it to finish it off.
I’ve tried to make it resemble the “Book Box” I made for the Lord of the Rings Sketchbook, by Alan Lee. I believe it comes close and I’m very happy with it. I even found an old, authentic, English tobacco smoking pipe which I added to the bottom edge.
