H.R. Giger created this picture for the inside cover of Emerson, Lake and Palmers “Brain Salad Surgery” album, 1973. I’ve used flat, mild steel stock, round hammered steel stock, twisted square steel, wrought iron fencing elements, and numerous steel claw points to create this frame. All outer edges were flame cut with a torch and welded and ground smooth. The round steel pieces were cut, ground, bent and welded into position, while the claws are screwed into place.
A frame such as this contains quite a lot of steel which makes it quite heavy when finished. This one weighs close to 40 lbs..
