Amethyst Pirates
I’ve used a slice of a Brazilian Amethyst Geode as my starting point for this one, and fit a piece of 3/8″ smoked glass to its bottom. I then created a hollow space beneath the glass. I attached the sunken Pirate ship, complete with Kraken figure, which took it to the bottom in the first place, to a specimen of Sandstone. I then fit this up into the hollow space created under the glass. I’ve also embedded a small light in this space. I used a slice of Brazilian Agate for the lid, and finished it off with a Pewter figure, by Rawcliffe, of the “Underworld Boatman”, for a handle. This little figure helps complete the tale of what happens to those unlucky souls aboard this Ship.
When the lid is opened, with the light off, you see the beautiful Amethyst Crystals around the edges, and what looks like a dark, watery pool in the bottom. But turn the light on, and it comes to life, showing the state of affairs below. You can then imagine how the lids handle ties in to this piece. Comes with a felt bottomed, Bloodwood base. Pewter Kraken figure is by Reaper Miniatures.
