Catching Dreams

Many small children are plagued by bad dreams and nightmares. This little Faery has heard about this problem and has decided to do something about it. So, with the help of her little green eyed Frog friend, she’s decided to search out and capture as many good, sweet dreams, as she can. It seems she’s found one in this icy pond. When her jar is full, she then travels far and wide, seeking out these troubled, sleeping children, and very quietly, removes those bad dreams. She locks these bad dreams away, replaces them with happy, peaceful ones, and waits. Waits for the sad frowns on the children’s faces to turn into a smile, and she knows her work is done.
This beautifully detailed Faery is by Selina Fenech. The small pewter Green Eyed Frog is by Perth Pewter. I’ve used a slice of white Marble, and a specimen of white Calcite to create the look of a snow, and ice, surrounded pond. I added a small Quartz point and two glass jars, one for good and one for bad dreams. The last two pics show the two, labeled, jars in place.
I’ve installed a small, switched, blue LED light under the Pond which makes this piece absolutely stunning in a dark room. Perfect for a children’s room night light. The base is a slice of a hand cut and finished piece of a hardwood called Corymbia Opaca, or Bloodwood, from Australia. The bottom is covered with heavy felt to protect furniture.
