This little Faery is another example of the beautiful craftsmanship of Australian Artist Selina Fenech. Her ability to capture the finest details in her work is second to none. From the facial expressions and hair of her pieces, to the textures and flow of her fabric details, show nothing but the highest quality of work. Then the colors make each of her pieces true works of art.
I’ve set her in front of a very nice specimen of blue Kyanite, from Brazil. I think the colors of the Kyanite were perfect for this piece. I then added a beautiful natural clear Quartz crystal, from Arkansas, to either side of the Kyanite, and added two faceted lead glass points at the base of the piece. I’ve also added an imitation pearl to her lap.
I then hand cut and finished a slice of a hardwood, Corymbia Opaca, or Bloodwood, also from Australia, for the base. The bottom is felted to protect furniture.
