Foxy Lady

I chose this figure, by Veronese, mainly because of the high degree of detail shown in it. From the color and texture of her stockings, to her delicate headband, the beautiful tattoo on her arm, and the mask she’s holding in her delicate hand.
An avid animal lover, she’s chosen two beautiful Arctic Foxes as her companions. These too are of high quality and detail; right down to the needle sharp teeth on the one lying down. I bought these on line and are by an unknown artist.
I put many, many hours in making the point which forms the backdrop of this piece. After making a mold, I filled it with a clear epoxy resin, which I added a small bit of black pigment to. When hardened, I spent countless hours sanding and polishing it to the desired smoothness and clarity. It turned out very well.
The base is of a hardwood from Australia called Corymbia Opaca, and is covered with heavy black felt on its bottom to protect furniture.
