The Date Navigator

This fine Pewter figure, by Ray Lamb, I believe is one of his finest works. It was produced by Medieval Productions. The quality of the sculpting and reproduction are second to none, right down to the stone in the ring on his finger, the details in his face, beard, and clothing, to the lead glass that tips his staff.
The “Machine” is a wonderful little piece I put together from “UGEARS”. I’ve mounted it on a heavy piece of copper and fastened it to a beautiful bronze finished pedestal. By lining up the gear wheels this little machine will show the day that any date you enter will fall on, from 2017 through 2044. A fascinating little gadget.
The base is of white Marble, as is the steps. I’ve added some small white glass spheres, which have a pearly flash to them, at the top and bottom of the stairs and to the post at the left rear of the machine. I have many hours in this piece, but I’m very happy with the end result.
The base is of a slice of a Hardwood called Corymbia Opaca, or Bloodwood, from Australia, which I hand cut and finished. The bottom is felted to protect furniture.
