Palantir of Saruman

Palantir of Saruman

I’ve had this figure of Saruman, from Lord Of The Rings, for a few years, and after watching “The Two Towers”, decided to try using him and his “Palantir” in an iconic scene from the movie. I found a swirling patterned glass marble that I thought would work well for his purpose, and mounted it on a pewter pedestal, by Gallo. Look closely at the pedestal and you can see a bearded face with red glass eyes staring back at you. The Saruman figure is from the LOTR Collection.
The main stone, behind the figures, is a fantastic specimen of Jasper, carved into a wonderful “Flame” shape, and beautifully polished to a high shine. The figures are mounted on a slice of Brazilian Agate. The base is a hand cut and finished slice of a hardwood, Corymbia Opaca, or Bloodwood, from Australia. The bottom is felted to protect furniture.
