Aztec Temple
I found this piece of sculpted Mexican Obsidian a few years back at one of the Tucson Shows. It’s an absolutely beautiful specimen of Obsidian that’s had a carving of an ancient Aztec Temple positioned at one of its corners so that, when looking through it, at the right angle, it creates an incredible 3-D effect. I also picked this piece, out of the others available, because it’s got a wonderful little bubble that formed in just the right place. Look closely at the pics and you’ll see it.
I’ve mounted this specimen on a nice slab of white Marble, added a few simulated pearls around it for a little more visual effect, then mounted this on a slab of black, simulated Marble. The base is covered with heavy, black felt to protect furniture.
