Dragon on Ice
Most of my Dragon figures are of the Medieval type, but I found this “Oriental” Dragon on line and thought I’d try another style. I love the detail in him, with his long, wirey mustache, and his outstretched claws. I fit a Fluorite Octahedron in both his front claws. He’s also protecting a Swarovsky lead crystal ball to his left.
I’ve mounted him on a specimen of Selenite, from Utah. I had another long and narrow piece I added to the rear of the piece. It had a few broken off pieces on it which I replaced with two quartz points. It turned out very nice.
The base is of a hardwood, Eucalyptus from Australia. I hand cut, finished and painted it white to give it a more ice like effect. The bottom is covered with heavy felt to protect furniture.
