Sleeping Beauty

Sleeping Beauty

At first she was intrigued by the song of a beautiful blue bird she’d seen, and followed it into the woods. After traveling deep into the trees, her interest in the birds’ song was replaced by a wonderful fragrance coming from beyond the trees ahead, and something else; the sound of a waterfall.
As she proceeded a magical sight met her eyes; an Amethyst mountain with a stream of liquid Amethyst flowing out of it, forming a small pool at its base. And even stranger yet, was the blue bird she’d heard, clinging to the side of, what looked like, an exquisite container. The soothing aroma coming from this container drew her closer. Unable to resist its fragrance, she opened the container and retrieved a small drop of the liquid and placed it on her delicate skin.
It was wonderful. She even started to relax, and became drowsy, so she decided to stretch out on a branch between two trees, in front of the Amethyst waterfall, and take a nap.
That was a LONG, LONG time ago. No one has been able to wake her. All the forest animals have tried, even now a little jeweled butterfly on her shoulder is trying.
So no one knows how long she’ll sleep, or how to bring her back. But just maybe, by filling this beautiful little bottle with your own favorite fragrance, you can create the magic to wake her.
The figure is by Selina Fenech, The glass Perfume Bottle I bought on line. The Amethyst is from Brazil and the hand cut and finished wood base is of Corymbia Opaca, or “Bloodwood”, from Australia, the bottom of which is felted to protect furniture.
