Tolkien named him.He also called him “A Fire Drake From The North”, and as Dragons go, Smaug is one of the fiercest. His lust for gold drives him to imaginable destruction to obtain it. He’s got his gold and treasure hordes hidden in many places and he visits them frequently to make sure that not a single coin is missing. He protects his hordes with his breath of fire, vicious claws, long, sharp teeth, and a wicked tail. Pity the fool that tries to steal from him.
This Fine Pewter figure is by Rawcliffe. I’ve used a beautiful bluish Quartz lined “cave” specimen which contains a wonderful spray formation inside. The floor is an Agate slice, from Utah. The purple Fluorite point at the top center, is from Brazil. The base is a hand cut and finished slice of a hardwood, Corymbia Opaca, (or Bloodwood) from Australia. The bottom is felted to protect furniture.
