This is an excellent Geode specimen, from Brazil. The inside is filled with a very fine coating of Druzy Amethyst and has a nice “sugary” effect. Even the outside of this Geode has been given many hours of grinding and polishing to give it a smooth finish. I cut a large slice of blue dyed Brazilian Agate to fit the top for its lid, did extensive metal work around the whole piece, and added a beautiful Australian Boulder Opal for its handle. This Opal shows a wonderful flash of mainly blue and yellow colors.
The base is a hand cut and finished slice of Poplar wood, the bottom of which is covered with heavy felt to protect furniture.
