Waiting For Steam

I found this wonderful figure, by Pacific Trading, on line and made a few changes to it to suit my needs. I’ve removed her wings and replaced them with a birds skull mask, hung around her neck by a chain. I then gave her both a dog and an owl as her traveling companions. I did quite a bit of work on both the dog and the owl; giving them a bit more of the Steampunk attire. I made the owls cage from a piece of aluminum flat stock, brass and steel round stock, and used appropriate fittings for its finial and door.
I’ve secured the trunk she’s sitting on to a piece of a mosaic, Marble, tile. The fencing is made of steel and brass fittings with a small chain connecting each post. The base is a hand cut and finished slice of a beautiful hardwood, from Australia, called Corymbia Opaca, or Bloodwood. The bottom is covered with a heavy felt to protect furniture.
