Grief and Despair
How long must you grieve? How deep is your despair? It seems those are out of the question for this beautiful Angel. She’s been here so long her gown is turning to shreds. This must end.
This highly detailed and hand painted figure , by Veronese, was produced by Design Toscano. Look closely at all the fine detailing throughout the piece. From her shredding gown, to her necklace, and her beautiful eyes. And even the Rose she still holds.
I made the obelisk, mounted behind her, out of an epoxy resin which I added black dye to and created some nice inclusions inside the piece. I then added some metal worked vines to its outside, which helps finish off the whole piece. This is a very somber piece, but I love the way it turned out.
The base is a of a hand cut, stained and finished slice of Eucalyptus wood from Australia. The bottom is felted to protect furniture.
